"The Home Depot El Hogar Perfecto" Contest (the "Contest") is open to all legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, 18 years of age or older. Void in Puerto Rico and U.S. territories and possessions and where prohibited by law. Individuals who are under exclusive contracts with either an agency or writing guild are not eligible to enter or win this Contest. Employees of Sponsor (as defined below), and its affiliates, Home Depot U.S.A., Inc. (the "Promotional Partner") and its parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, franchisees and advertising or promotion agencies, and members of their immediate family (parent, spouse, child and sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and those living in the same household, whether or not related, of any of the above, are not eligible to participate or win the prize. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges and/or Sponsor, which are binding and final on matters relating to this Contest. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

TO ENTER: Between 12:01 AM (ET) on September 5, 2008 and 11:59 PM (ET) on October 20, 2008 (the "Entry Period"), Sponsor will conduct a contest asking entrants to submit a brief story in 100 words or less ("Story") about "Why Should you receive The Home Depot Gift Card ("Topic"). To enter, participants must log on to the Contest page of the Latina.com website, located at http://www.latina.com/homedepot (the "Website"), during the Entry Period. All entrants must focus on the Topic described herein. Story must be the entrants' original, previously unpublished work and all entries become the property of Sponsor, will not be acknowledged or returned and may be used by Sponsor in any manner or media in perpetuity without compensation. Story must be written in English and any plagiarism and/or failure to properly identify non-original material in Story by an entrant will result in such entrant's disqualification. Story containing quotations or copyrighted materials which are not properly identified will also be disqualified. All words in the Story except the title shall be counted towards the word limit. Any Story that Sponsor and/or the judges deem, in their sole discretion, to be inappropriate or obscene will be void. Limit one (1) entry per person. Multiple entries from any person and/or duplicate entries will be deemed void.

No hard copy, mail-in entries, or facsimiles will be accepted by Sponsor and all such entries will be void. Sponsor is not responsible for misdirected, inaccurate, incomplete, lost, late, delayed, undelivered, damaged or illegible entries, and all such entries will be void. Sponsor is also not responsible for technical, hardware, or software failures of any kind, or other errors or problems which may occur in connection with or relating to the Contest, whether computer, network, technical, mechanical, typographical, printing, human or otherwise, including, without limitation, errors or problems which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing or judging of entries, the announcement of the prize, in any Contest-related materials or that may limit prize fulfillment or a participant's ability to enter the Contest. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or prematurely conclude the Contest should any computer virus, malfunction, fraud, tampering, unauthorized intervention or other cause beyond their control corrupt the administration, security or proper operation of the Contest. If the Contest is cancelled, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, judge all eligible entries received up to time of such action using the judging procedures outlined below to determine the Winner. False or deceptive entries or acts will render the entrant ineligible and Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant (and void his/her entry) who attempts to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by tampering with any Website mechanism, acts in a disruptive manner or violates these Official Rules. Any attempt by an individual to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be in violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages (including attorneys' fees) from any such person(s) to the fullest extent of the law, including criminal prosecution.

JUDGING: Winners will be selected by a panel comprised of representatives from Sponsor and the Promotional Partner (together the "Judges") on or about November 3, 2008 from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period, based upon the following criteria: originality of the story (80%), and overall eloquence (20%). All decisions of the Judges will be final and binding on all matters.

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Potential Winner will be notified by Sponsor either by the telephone number or e-mail address provided within his/her entry. Winner must also meet all eligibility requirements. Potential Winner may be required to provide proof of identity, address and birth date, as well as execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, tax acknowledgment form, liability release and, except where prohibited by law, publicity release within ten (10) days of date of issuance either via facsimile or US certified mail in order to claim the prize. If any potential Winner fails to do so or if: (i) any prize notification is returned as undeliverable, (ii) a potential Winner declines his or her prize, or (iii) a potential Winner is determined to be ineligible for any reason, such potential Winner will be disqualified and, at Sponsor's sole discretion, a runner-up will be chosen.

PRIZES (4): Four (4) Winners will receive one (1) $500.00 The Home Depot Gift Card Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") five hundred dollars ($500.00). No substitutions, partial acceptance, transfer of prizes or cash redemptions permitted by Winner. Gift Cards are subject to terms and conditions on the back of each card and as otherwise specified by The Home Depot. Winners may use The Home Depot Gift Card toward the purchase of merchandise at any The Home Depot retail store or EXPO Design Center. The Home Depot Gift Card has no implied warranties, is not a credit card or debit card, and is redeemable for merchandise only and will not be redeemed or exchanged for cash, check or credit. It may not be used for payment on any credit or loan account. Lost, stolen or damaged The Home Depot Gift Cards will not be canceled and replaced without the required proof of acceptance by the winner. Additional terms and conditions apply. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of comparable or greater value in the event a described prize or any portion thereof, is unavailable for any reason whatsoever. Winner is responsible for the reporting and payment of all federal, state and local taxes incurred by acceptance and use of the prize (or any portion thereof). All prize details are at Sponsor's sole discretion. In no event will more prizes be awarded than those listed in these Official Rules.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: By entering this Contest, entrants: (i) agree to be bound by the decisions of Sponsor and judges which are final and binding in all matters; (ii) grant Sponsor and their designees the right, unless prohibited by law, to use their names, cities and states of residence, voices, pictures and likenesses, without compensation, notification or permission, for the purpose of advertising and publicity in any and all media, now or after known, throughout the world in perpetuity; and (iii) acknowledge and agree that Sponsor will own and administer 100% of the copyright in each Story, and any photos submitted (if applicable), with the perpetual right to use such materials. Sponsor will own the entries submitted (including the Story and all rights embodied therein), and their designees may exploit, edit, modify, and distribute the entries and all elements of such entries, including, without limitation, the names and likenesses of any persons or locations embodied therein, in any and all media, now or hereafter known throughout the world in perpetuity without limitation at no additional notification or permission of entrants, or any third party. In addition, entrants forever waive and relinquish all so-called "moral rights" ("droit moral") now or hereafter recognized. Sponsor expressly disclaims any responsibility, and entrants agree to release, indemnify and hold Sponsor harmless for liability, damages or claims for injury or loss to any person or property (including death) relating to, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, participation in this Contest, the acceptance and/or subsequent use or misuse of any of the prizes awarded (including any travel or activity release thereto), claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy. Sponsor is not responsible for any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from the downloading of any material from the Website, regardless of whether the material was prepared by Sponsor or a third party, and regardless of whether the material is connected to the Website by a hypertext link. Sponsor further assumes no liability either for the cancellation, modification or premature conclusion of the Contest for any reason or through the acts or defaults of any company or person providing any prize. All such losses or expenses must be borne by the affected participants, entrants and/or Winner.
